First – The Numbers!

This is the 19th Consecutive Year of Growth for the DIRECT SELLING INDUSTRY which is defined as the sale of a consumer product or service, person-to-person, away from a fixed retail location, through independent salespeople.

• 13.3 Million people in the US sold nearly $30 BILLION of goods and services last year through Direct Selling.

• 73.3% of sales took place in the home.

• 81.9% of compensation plans are multilevel.

• 85.1% work in direct sales PART-TIME.

• 79.9% of salespeople in direct selling are women.

Just numbers right? Wrong! You see, I understand these numbers. I love these numbers. I have found financial freedom within these numbers. In looking back in what it actually took to achieve success in this Exploding Direct Selling Industry I am amazed at how really simple it was – simple, not easy. My passion has been to help others find such freedom and the joy in doing so on occasion has been tempered by the fact that many I’ve tried to help did not make it. It’s really so simple – if all the ingredients are in place. Along came CandleWealth and my easy retirement mode of life was no longer an option.

My Intuition Screamed

A short time ago a friend and business associate called me and asked me what I thought about an idea – a concept that would quickly become this Mayflower Ship of a company – a few pioneers on deck scrubbing. He was talking about candles. Candles? Yep, candles! Within 15 minutes my intuition was screaming. It’s all in those numbers above. It has to do with some key ingredients which I will explain. 15 minutes into the conversation – I saw it!. My intuition kicked into overdrive. Heck, I wasn’t really cut out for retirement anyway. CandleWealth was born. We are about to leave the shoreline behind. How exciting!

What my intuition saw in a moment was what I spent years trying to figure out. How come so few of the people I have tried to lead to financial freedom did not make it? I knew why. In an instant – I knew it! Certain elements, key ingredients, one thing or the other – missing. Now, all in one new, pioneering company. Here they are. This is why we (my intuition and I) joined and why you should too. I guess things like this – key components coming together seemingly out of nowhere – don’t happen often. This is a rare opportunity. I will show you why.

People Just Quit Too Easily

 Persistence is the key to success. You know that. You just don’t do that. Why? Well, it’s no fun. That’s why. Aha, “fun” – that’s a key ingredient. If it’s fun, you will persist. If you will persist, you will succeed. It’s that’s simple. When I look back over the bloodied landscape of those failures I tried to lead; the reason every time, they quit too soon, they just gave up, every stinkin' one of them. If they had just kept on keeping on. So, my first thought when I got that call, “hmmm, this might be fun . . . candles? . . . yeah, candles . . . people love candles . . . don’t they . . . I think they do. . . making them . . . would that be fun? . . . hmmm . . . wow, maybe it will be tons of fun . . . if it is . . . well, that darn persistence demon . . might just be able to deal with that one.” So, my friend FedEx’d my wife and I a simple candle making kit. The next night, after an hour of fun and frivolous time together there we stood over our kitchen counter staring at a baker’s dozen of the cutest looking NVSoy™ candles you’d ever seen. We looked at each other, “Hey, ya know, that was fun!”.

If there’s one thing I’ve heard more than anything else since we started this company – it’s this, “Hey, Mike we are having so much fun.” And here’s something else I’ve since discovered, something my intuition knew in that moment. Fun is one contagion people want to catch. Our CandleWealth Associates are “fun magnets” and teams of people making and selling candles together are happening naturally, almost spontaneously. It’s the fun of it, I tell ya. Don’t you want to follow and hang with people who are having fun?

That Dreaded Fear of Rejection

Rejection is always at the top of every psychologist’s list of people’s fears – fears that hold them back. And it’s true. That’s another reason people quit too soon. For some, just one dose of rejection sent them packin’ to that comfy cubicle 9 to 5 workaday world. So sad. But candles . . . where’s the rejection in that? Who’s afraid to talk about candles? Everyone already burns them and loves them – to the tune of about 10 billion dollars worth each year. And they’re all burning paraffin candles. They don’t even know what paraffin is – where it comes from. They need to know. They’ll thank you. When they hear you have an all-natural breakthrough healthy alternative, they’ll love you. Rejection? What’s that when you’re talking about candles? My intuition again – understood this. And sure enough. People are just naturally telling everyone about their healthy natural candles. Rejection was always just an imposter anyway. A little man behind the curtain pulling levers and switches.

Try it. Tell someone that the candles they love and burn all the time are throwing off carcinogenic toxins and soot particles into the lungs of their children and beloved parakeets. They’ll say, “What, really? Paraffin is what . . .” Put a 100 woman in a room. Get in front of them all and tell them the facts. What will every 100 of those ladies look for the next time they buy a candle – an anti-paraffin one. They will. Okay, forget the 100 people in a room with you in front of them if that’s too scary. Tell your neighbor, your mom, your sister – it’s rejection-proof. Candles – brilliant!

A Side Note Just For The Guys – (Gals, skip this paragraph please)

 Guys. Do me a favor. Go back to those numbers at the start of this article. Yeah, the one about the 30 BILLION in goods and services being sold each year. Man, fortunes are being made in this industry. What about yours? You too macho for direct sales? Now read that final stat up there – 80% of people in this industry are what? . . . woman . . . yes, you read that right, woman. Now, I’ve met that rare exception a time or two – but let’s be honest guys: Put 100 men in a room and give them the same information about paraffin vs. NVSoy™ wax candles. How many will even remember what you said? That is, if they don’t bring their wives. My intuition knew about that bottom stat folks. I knew woman dominated this great industry. THAT IS A HUGE STAT. The Money Objection

 This one’s the simplest and most fun to deal with. The truth is – people are broke. They need us. Badly. Why. Candles sell. Every year it’s the number one gift in America. People love them. And people need extra money NOW. Those credit cards are maxed and they are stressed. Listen, it’s a no-brainer. My 15 year old son proved it. Camp costs were all his this year. He had no cash – none. So, he made some candles in the kitchen. Had to get after him a bit about the clean up. Cost him about 3 bucks a piece in supplies. Went around the neighborhood knocking on doors. A couple of days later – camp was paid for in cash. I was a proud daddy. Really, it’s a no-brainer. We’ve eliminated the need for candle making factories and all that stuff. Therefore profit margins are huge - and yours if you want them. Why let some foreign oil corporation get all the cash. Those paraffin candle companies are going to make billions in profits for the few that own them – and their lucky stockholders. Well, not if we can help it. You take in those profits instead – let our stockholders get them. Support the farmlands of America not the oil fields of Iraq. Besides, this is a renewable clean resource. It’s the right thing to do.

Remember what Zig said, Zig Ziglar I mean. “If you help enough people get what they want, you get what you want.” Remember, our associates are “fun magnets.” Tons of other people want to make candles at home – we have to find them. Tons more need some extra cash next week and will love selling candles they make at home.
